Coding & Technology · Ages 8 to 10

Tell the computer what to do.

Coding is just giving clear instructions, and children are naturals once they see it that way. In small groups of up to 8, children around ages 8 to 10 are introduced to coding, logical thinking and creative digital problem-solving through engaging project-based activities.

No advanced coding experience required. Contact our team to confirm suitability and availability.

What Children Build

Thinking skills first, tech skills with them

The point of coding at this age is not a career in software. It is learning to think in steps, test ideas and not give up when version one doesn’t work.

Coding foundations

Children are introduced to coding step by step, learning how instructions, sequences and logic make things happen.

Logical thinking

Breaking a problem into steps, predicting what will happen and checking the result: the coder’s habit of mind.

Digital problem-solving

Project-based activities give children real problems to solve creatively with technology, not just exercises to copy.

Creativity with purpose

Children design their own projects and make their own decisions, so the technology serves their imagination.

Focus and persistence

Code rarely works first go. Children learn to look again, fix the step that’s wrong and feel the win when it runs.

Confidence with technology

Children move from using technology to directing it, a shift in confidence parents notice quickly.

Debugging: one block was wrong. Children learn to find it, swap it and watch the fix work.

How Classes Work

Projects, not worksheets

  • Weekly small-group classes during school terms
  • Coding and technology activities built around projects
  • Digital problem-solving exercises that stretch thinking
  • Classroom learning support at every step
  • Spark Passport points for effort and participation
Good to know: no advanced coding experience is required. One-to-one lessons are offered only during school holidays, subject to availability and confirmation.

8

Up to 8 students per class

Debugging is personal. Small groups mean the teacher can sit with each child’s project and each child’s thinking.
